Finding the right person who will always unquestionably love and support you, no matter what obstacles you’re forced to contend with, is a gratifying experience that many people unfortunately take for granted. The title character in the upcoming romantic comedy-drama, ‘Jane Wants a Boyfriend,’ is so determined to find a significant other who will always cherish her that she regrettably doesn’t realize that the man she has chosen isn’t right for her. When her sister, Bianca, who does appreciate her, points out that she needs to move on from the dangerous relationship, Jane becomes so distraught that she won’t accept what her sibling is telling her.
The struggle to find true love and a meaningful connection is powerfully presented in the film, which is a gripping representative of the current dating process in New York City. To sympathetically showcase how the struggle of approaching this process is intensified while having autism, Shockya has generously been given the opportunity to premiere a new clip from ‘Jane Wants a Boyfriend.’ The clip features the film’s main actresses, Eliza Dushku and Louisa Krause, as the two sisters who are protective over each other, but can’t agree when a romantic relationship is threatening.
‘Jane Wants a Boyfriend’ follows Jane, a bright-eyed young woman in her mid-20’s who’s living with autism, and her overprotective, and recently engaged older sister, Bianca. When their parents announce that they are moving out of their Brooklyn brownstone, and heading to the suburbs of New Jersey, they propose the sisters move in together. The suggestion throws Bianca’s newly engaged life through a loop. Their bond is put to the test even more when Jane asks Bianca to help her find her first boyfriend. As the innocent Jane embarks on new territory, and as Bianca worries that Jane’s heart will be broken, they open up a new chapter in their relationship as sisters.
The comedy-drama was recognized with the Best Ensemble Cast award at the Nappa Valley Film Festival, as well as with an Audience Award for Favorite Actress on behalf of Krause’s performance. FilmBuff will release ‘Jane Wants a Boyfriend,’ which was directed by William C. Sullivan and written by Jarrett Kerr, in theaters and On Demand on March 25.
Watch Dushku and Krause’s characters, Bianca and Jane, argue about the type of man the title character should be dating, in Shockya’s premiere of the new clip from ‘Jane Wants a Boyfriend,’ below.
