The movie, which was executive produced by Robert Redford, was nominated for Best Narrative Feature at the 2015 Tribeca Film Festival. After having its world premiere at the New York City-based festival last year, where the drama was filmed, ‘The Adderall Diaries’ was distributed in a limited theatrical release on April 15 by A24.
In ‘The Adderall Diaries,’ Franco portrays Stephen Elliott, a famous but troubled author whose fascination with a high-profile murder case brings his own dark past into focus. Based on the author’s best-selling book, the movie follows one man’s desperate journey through sex, drugs and lies as he tries to separate fact from fiction and ignite a life-changing romance.
The home entertainment release of ‘The Adderall Diaries’ includes audio commentary with the director, a behind-the-scenes featurette and deleted scenes. The crime thriller will be available on Blu-ray and DVD for the suggested retail price of $24.99 and $19.98, respectively.
