One of the seemingly most joyful heroes of society, who’s believed to help bring families together in happiness, is actually proving to be one of America’s most menacing villains. Clowns, who are supposed to enter families’ homes in order to provide joy to children, are actually thriving on their secret ability to break apart kids’ bonds with their relatives. That menacing invasion of families’ security is chronicled in producer Eli Roth and director Jon Watts’ horror film, ‘Clown.’
The filmmakers’ twist on the scary clown genre will infiltrate homes when Dimension Films and Anchor Bay Entertainment distribute the movie on Blu-ray and DVD, for the suggested retail price of $26.99 and $22.98, respectively, on August 23. The discs will include the special feature, ‘Making Clown Featuring Producer Eli Roth.’ The fantasy drama, which was co-written by Watts and Christopher Ford, stars Laura Allen, Andy Powers and Peter Stormare.
‘Clown’ follows Kent (Powers), a loving father who dons a clown outfit and makeup to perform at his son’s sixth birthday. He later discovers that the costume, including the red nose and wig, will not come off, and his own personality changes in a horrific fashion. To break the curse of the evil outfit, the father must make grim choices with his own family facing danger.
