A callous and unrelenting group of villains are set to battle the apocalypse in the newly released stills, poster and official trailer from the upcoming sci-fi film, ‘The Sector.’ The drama’s photos, poster and trailer were unveiled by its production company, Copper Kid Productions, as the movie was presented at this weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con.
‘The Sector’ marks the feature film writing and directorial debuts of filmmaker Josh Ridgway, who also served as a producer on the drama. The post-apocalyptic thriller stars Richard Tyson (‘The Perfect Weapon,’ ‘Black Hawk Down’), Kayla Carlyle (‘Jurassic City’), John Wesley Shipp (The CW’s ‘The Flash’), Vernon Wells (‘Mad Max,’ ‘Commando’), Eric Roberts (‘The Dark Knight,’ ‘The Specialist’) and Lance Henriksen (‘Aliens,’ ‘Alien Vs Predator’).
Copper Kid Productions has released the following synopsis for ‘The Sector,’ which will be released by Indican Pictures:
In a dystopian world, a bounty hunter sets out to capture a ruthless band of outlaws who have kidnapped an important father and daughter through a world of multiverses. Unbeknownst to the Outlaws and the Bounty Hunter is that another, more powerful man known only as The Finisher has plans of his own.
To coincide with the release of the sci-fi thriller’s stills and poster, Ridgway discussed making ‘The Sector’ independently. “We had a low budget, and I wanted to push everything to the limit. I wanted to create a world that was bigger than what we could really afford to put on screen,” the producer, who works for Cooper Kid Productions, explained.
“Lance Henriksen really created his own character. I wanted him to do that. It’s one of the great things about indie film; you have the freedom to create, and I think he enjoyed it,” the director also revealed, while talking about the actor.
The writer also discussed working with the cast on developing their characters and the story, noting how “A lot of filmmakers never like to stray from the script. Early on, when I saw the film put together for the first time, a light went off in my head and I had all these new ideas. Fortunately, I was able to shoot some new scenes and bring in Eric Roberts, who helped bring those new elements to life. I think his character really tied the movie together.”
