Sometimes the best way to find your true purpose in life is to seek advice from the unlikeliest of places. That’s certainly the case for one of the troubled young protagonists in the new thriller, ‘Natural Selection.’ The teen is desperately seeking direction from a world that seems to have abandoned him. To showcase the struggles all adolescents are forced to overcome as they search for the meaning of their lives, Shockya has an exclusive clip, titled ‘I Used to be a Cop,’ from the film.
‘I Used to be a Cop’ features one of the drama’s main characters, Tyler, as he speaks with one the security guards at his high school. 1980’s teen icon, Anthony Michael Hall, who began garnering fame after he appeared in the adolescent-driven comedies, ‘The Breakfast Club’ and ‘Sixteen Candles,’ plays the guard, Mr. Stevenson, in the new thriller. Now as the authority figure in a high school, Hall’s character is writing a report on Tyler, who has decided to take a different, and at-times troubling, approach to contending with his antagonistic classmates. Mr. Stevenson reveals to Tyler that he has also had trouble contending with his environment at times, and explains why he’s no longer working as a police officer.
ITN Distribution unveiled ‘Natural Selection’ today in theaters and on VOD and iTunes. The thriller was written and directed by first-time feature film scribe and helmer, Chad L. Scheifele. In addition to Hall, the drama also stars Katherine McNamara, Mason Dye, Catherine Missal, Amy Carlson and Ryan Munzert.
the following synopsis for ‘The Natural Selection’ has been released by ITN Distribution:
Tyler is a young man who is desperately seeking direction from a world that seems to have abandoned him. Everyday at school he fights for survival, as he is easy prey amongst the endless hallways of fellow student predators. Searching for answers he looks to his friend Indrid who appears to have it all figured out. Tyler takes Indrid’s ideology and adopts it as his own. Not long after, Tyler sees the whole picture more clearly but is this new vision for the better? Or could it be more damaging than he could have ever imagined? Soon, Tyler finds himself in the middle of the storm and gets caught up in something he may not be able to change.
