The conspiracy to assassinate the 35th President of the United States and its aftermath has been transformed into a groundbreaking theatrical event. ‘The Tragedy of JFK (As Told by Wm. Shakespeare)’ illuminates what might have actually happened during one of the most shocking events in American history. The play, which uses Shakespearian text, is having its world premiere run at The Skylight Theatre in Los Feliz, California, where it will play until Sunday, November 6.
‘The Tragedy of JFK (As Told by Wm. Shakespeare)’ was conceived, adapted and directed by Daniel Henning. The cast for The Blank Theatre’s production include, in alphabetical order, Tony Abatemarco, Ford Austin in the title role of JFK, Chad Brannon, Brian Brennan, Roslyn Cohn, Brett Collier, Cris D’Annunzio, Jerry Della Salla, Susan Denaker, John Knight, Jonathon Lamer, Kelie McIver, Casey McKinnon, Bruce Nehlsen, Jacob Sidney, Jonny Walker and Time Winters.
The play’s crew includes scenic designer Sydney Russell, lighting designer Brandon Baruch, costume designer Naila Aladdin Sanders, wig and hair designer Judi Lewin and sound designer Warren Davis. The stage manager for the prodction is Chris Hoffman. ‘The Tragedy of JFK (as told by Wm. Shakespeare)’ is produced for The Blank Theatre by Bree Pavey and Noah Wyle.
Henning, who also works as the Founding Artistic Director for Blank Theatre, is a recognized expert on the JFK assassination. He has lectured at colleges and appeared for countless hours on talk radio at stations such as KABC, WABC, KFI, KPFK and WMAL.
‘The Tragedy of JFK (as told by Wm. Shakespeare)’s regular performance schedule is set for Fridays at 8:30pm, Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 2pm through November 6.
