Fighting back against the lifestyles and cultures you don’t agree with is usually a cause that you find to be noteworthy and noble. But when your morals continuously clash against the ever-evolving ideals that society has accepted as the norm, humor is often an inadvertent result that arises from the conflict. That realistic mix of banter and tension is grippingly highlighted in the comedy, ‘Ron and Laura Take Back America.’
In honor of the political satire’s recent release on VOD from Undisclosed Location Films, Shockya has a new exclusive clip. The video showcases the title characters’ struggle to assimilate into their country’s latest beliefs, as they attempt to care for Ron’s mother.
‘Ron and Laura Take Back America’ was written and directed by Mel England and Janice Markham, who also portray the title characters. The mockumentary also stars Jim J. Bullock, Irene Bedard and Sally Kirkland.
The following synopsis for ‘Ron and Laura Take Back America’ has been released:
Quick-tempered man and his befuddled wife, Ron and Laura Grawsill, are proud Conservatives who are taking America back! With the help of local politicians and the ‘Real Suburban Housewives of Bakersfield,’ Ron and Laura take on the fight against Obamacare and gay Marriage. But when they decide to film their protests, the culture wars land right in their own backyard. Their son is gay, and their housekeeper isn’t a legal American citizen. So Ron and Laura become determined to save their son and their country.
In the final showdown, Ron and Laura lose their healthcare coverage, and take the battle to their favorite reality TV star, America’s Top Celebrity Designer, Bob Zackie. Their subsequent accidental partnership formed after the couple mistakenly writing “Bob” Zackie on a protest sign. Ron and Laura were actually trying to come to the defense of Whole Fruits CEO “John” Zackie, who made disparaging remarks about Obamacare that sparked nation-wide boycotts.
