Screen Crush put together an epic new trailer that answers the question; What if ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi’ came out in the 80’s?
This fan trailer features scenes from the recently released Last Jedi teaser trailer with a VHS-like retro look and feel. As Screenrant points out, the trailer resembles the 1982 trailer for George Lucas’ Star Wars: Episode VI — Return of the Jedi.
Personally I love it, but I’m a sucker for the 80’s — life was so much simpler then. In the 80’s Weird Al passed on a $5 million contract to endorse a beer company, because he thought it was “ethically wrong” and a 1GB hard drive cost more than $40,000 and weighed over 500 pounds.
The upcoming eighth installment in the highly anticipated series, ‘Star Wars: The Last Jedi,’ written and directed by ‘Looper’ scribe-helmer, Rian Johnson. The follow-up to ‘The Force Awakens,’ directed by J. J. Abrams, is set to be released in theaters on December 15, 2017.
Star Wars 8 stars Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Domhnall Gleeson, Andy Serkis, Benicio del Toro, Laura Dern and Kelly Marie Tran.
