One of the most intriguing questions that movie audiences were left debating as they left the theater after the latest Marvel superhero hit film, ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ was what the Tony Stark-designed Iron Spider suit would look like once it was completed. Viewers were surprised to see at the end of the drama that the suit, which is based off of the Iron Spider costume from the Spider-Man comics, was teased. Now fans are finally able to see what the whole suit looks like with a newly released official photo from the film studio.
The action movie marks the title character’s first leading role in the MCU, after he was briefly introduced in last year’s ‘Captain America: Civil War.’ The third installment in the Captain America-led series offered audiences a satisfying first look at two of Spider-Man’s new uniforms, including one that was designed by Stark, Iron Man’s alter-ego, as well as the teenager’s home-made outfit. ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ which was released theatrically last month, showcased the title superhero in both versions of his suit.
The Iron Spider suit wasn’t introduced on screen until the twist at end of ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ after it was rumored to appear in the MCU for years. It’s debuted on-screen after it was showcased in the comic book version of ‘Civil War.’ In the comic book, Spider-Man’s alter ego, Peter Parker, received the new uniform as a gift, after he joined Tony’s team. The Spidey-themed Iron Man suit was crafted in red and gold, and includes such features as three extra appendages. The Iron Spider suit soon became a fan-favorite costume after it was first introduced in print.
While fans were initially teased with a glimpse of the Iron Spider suit during ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ the title superhero will finally put on the suit in ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ The teaser trailer that was released at the D23 Expo earlier this month confirmed that Peter will be wearing the suit during the upcoming third installment of the ‘Avengers‘ saga as he battles Thanos.
In the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ teaser trailer that debuted at D23, as well as the poster that launched at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month, the initially reluctant Peter is shown to eventually agree to wear the Stark tech-infused Iron Spider suit. The upgraded outfit will surely help Spidey fight in the ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ battle, which thanks to the film’s promotional assets, promises to be an epic clash.
It’s still not known if the completed costume will be equipped with spider arms. From the looks of the first suit photo, Trixter, the company that has worked on the costumes for ‘Spider-Man: Homecoming,’ both previous ‘Avengers’ films and other such Marvel movies as ‘Iron Man 3’ and ‘Ant-Man,’ seems to have nicely combined Peter’s Mark I suit and the Iron Spider uniform from the comics.
