People can become determined at times to protect their existence and the things they love that they take any drastic means necessary to stop anyone who threatens them. That’s certainly the case for actor Bill Milner’s distressed character in the new horror movie, ‘The Lodgers,’ who determinedly fights to maintain ownership of his cherished family’s estate. In honor of the drama being distributed in theaters and On Demand today by Epic Pictures, Shockya is premiering an exclusive clip from the movie. The clip, which is titled ‘Love Birds,’ features the performer’s character preparing to resort to violence to save his home.
The official release for ‘The Lodgers’ comes after it had its world premiered at last fall’s Toronto International Film Festival. The movie was directed by Brian O’Malley, and written by David Turpin. In addition to Milner, the drama also stars Charlotte Vega, David Bradley, Eugene Simon and Moe Dunford.
‘The Lodgers,’ which is set in 1920 in rural Ireland, follows Anglo twins Rachel (Vega) and Edward (Milner) as they share a strange existence in their crumbling family estate. Each night, the property becomes the domain of the title sinister presence, which enforces three rules upon the twins: they must be in bed by midnight; they may not permit an outsider past the threshold; and if one attempts to escape, the life of the other is placed in jeopardy. When troubled war veteran Sean (Simon) returns to the nearby village, he is immediately drawn to the mysterious Rachel, who in turn begins to break the rules set out by The Lodgers. The consequences pull Rachel into a deadly confrontation with her brother and the curse that haunts them.
