Some people can be easily manipulated into doing things for others through guilt, and as a result, often end up taking care of other’s needs to the detriment of their own well-being. That’s certainly the case for a couple of the main protagonists in the new romantic comedy-drama, ‘Born Guilty,’ even though their goals and motivations are quite different. In honor of the film’s theatrical release this past weekend, in honor of Mother’s Day, by Freestyle Digital Media, ShockYa is premiering an exclusive clip from the project, which is titled ‘Be the Man of Her Dreams.’
In the video, David Coussins’ character, Rawl, is being convinced by his friend, Marty, who’s played by Jay Devore, to help emotionally support his mom, who’s portrayed by Rosanna Arquette. The Emmy Award-nominated actress plays a character that many mothers can relate to, as the movie touches on real relationships. It also shows a uniquely heartwarming, yet equally comedic, bond between mother and son.
Freestyle Digital Media has released the following synopsis for ‘Born Guilty’:
A lonely and frazzled New York social worker, Judith (Arquette), who can’t resist the urge to intervene in her son Marty’s life. Meanwhile, Marty (Devore) is trying to manage being creative in his advertising career and in a romantic relationship at the same time, on top of constantly talking his mother off the ledge. When Marty’s free-spirited Aussie pal Rawl (Coussins) shows up, Marty hires friend to see Judy and restore her to health—any way it takes.
In addition to Arquette, Devore and Coussins, ‘Born Guilty’ also stars Keesha Sharp, Xander Berkeley, Anna Lore and Jay Klaitz. The romantic comedy-drama was written, produced and edited by Max Heller, who made his feature film directorial debut on the project.
