While the high-end CBD company Swissx has been making waves in the world of non-psychoactive cannabis products for a long time, it has only now stepped into the world of physical retail. On Thursday, the brand unveiled its first brick-and-mortar store in a manner befitting the Snoop Dogg-endorsed product—with music, celebrities, and a river of CBD. The party highlighted the unique services offered by the Robinson Avenue store, including Swissx’s luxury CBD chocolates, a gourmet vegan kitchen run by vegan chef Tanya Goott, and a custom CBD lab overseen by resident doctor and expert Dr. Joseph Peter Barsuglia.
The event got rolling by 7:00 PM as actors, singers, producers, directors, and models descended on the red carpet before making their way into the store itself. Inside, they enjoyed the beautiful facility and the luxury CBD goodies and in-house kava kava shakes blended by Chef Goott.
While the festivities provided enough diversion, perhaps the biggest celebrity splash was made by famous canine Lucy the Dachshund, the protagonist and start of the Fandomodo game Wild Wiener. Lucy came with her plus-one, musician and game designer Christian Savalas.
Westworld’s Adrian Dev had plenty of places he could have been on Thursday night—chief among his options, the latest Star Wars franchise spin-off, Solo. But as a connoisseur of the good life, he figured that Westworld co-actor Thandie Newton (who has a central role in Solo) had enough support from others on the WW cast.
Later in the night, the chart-topping singer-songwriter, producer, and dancer Brandon Howard, also known as B. Howard, stopped by for his own moment on the red carpet (and for some Swissx chocolates). Howard has produced some of the biggest names in hip-hop and is the creative force behind hits like Ne-Yo’s “I Ain’t Gonna Tell You” and his own single “Don’t Say You Love Me,” which debuted at number 11 on Billboard’s Top Dance charts.
The event also attracted celebrities like Alisa Reyes of All That fame; comedienne, host, and cannabis influencer Lacretia Lyon; hip-hop artist, rapper, and actor Silkk the Shocker; actor Monique Plante, best known for her highly-lauded performance in Nashville; The Rich & the Ruthless’s Elizabeth J. Carlisle; lifestyle reporter and actor Louise Houghton; mega-producer Detail, who has worked with artists like Lil Wayne and Beyoncé ; Shavo Odadjian of System of a Down; Wayne Jobson of Sirius XM’s The Joint; and many more.
Like everything at Swissx, the event was conceptualized, orchestrated, and executed by founder and CEO Alki David. Even while he oversaw every detail from the kitchen to the music, he still managed to enjoy himself and check-in with each guest. The store’s maiden voyage was also attended by Swissx’s resident doctor, Dr. Joseph Peter Barsuglia, who brings to the flagship location a doctorate in psychology and a career of exploring approaches to healing through psychedelic therapies and sacred earth medicines.
With this innovative milestone only five months after its legalization in California, Swissx has distinguished itself as a major player in the burgeoning cannabis and wholistic medicine movement. Thursday’s party did more than just celebrate the brand—it celebrated the community that Swissx has built through health, healing, and compassion
