Single: ‘Sunday Morning’

Traveling the world and experiencing an intriguing and unique adventure can often harbor an alluring attraction to many young adults. But the longer their journey on the road lasts, the more the process can lose its appeal for some people, as they realize that their hearts will always be attached to their homes and families. That understanding of the shift in their life’s priorities is a monumental one for Chad and Bret Bourquin, the two brothers who make up the Americana band, Big Time Grain Company.

The Kansas City-based duo has released their latest riveting and insightful country single, ‘Sunday Morning,’ which is the follow up to their acclaimed 2018 EP, ‘401k.’ Their infectious new song is a spirited ode to the joys and comforts of returning home to their loving families after they spent extended time on the road, performing regularly at festivals not only in their home city, but also in Colorado, Iowa, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio and Nebraska.

Inspired by the professional and personal joruneys taken by such fellow country artists as Brad Paisley, Keith Urban, Dierks Bentley, Jason Aldean and Luke Bryan, Bret wrote Big Time Grain Company’s new single on a Sunday morning after the band embarked on a string of gigs that had them playing shows across their region of the U.S. The singer-songwriter was reflecting on how his career was influencing his relationships with his wife and their two young children, and he ultimately grasped that he could travel anywhere in the world with his band, but his heart will always be anchored at home. The emotional sentiment is one that Chad, who has three children of his own, agrees with, as there’s a good feeling being back home, where everything is familiar to them.

Big Time Grain Company’s new track features Bret’s coolly deep and gritty low lead vocals, which are driven by his enthralling pulsating basslines, acoustic guitar riffs and keys as he croons about only wanting to rest his head at home with his family. He powerfully proclaims that he wouldn’t trade his time with his family for any gig, as he values their time together too much.

Supplemented by Chad’s stellar old western and alternate rock hook line and steel like modulations on the electric guitar, the tune is magically fascinating, and will surely lead listeners wanting to dance. The brothers smoothly work together to contemplate and embrace their time creating music and touring together, while also appreciating and valuing the periods they spend with their respective wives and children.

Navigating the world and experiencing a compelling and unique adventure can often harbor an charming attraction to many young adults. But the longer their journey on the road lasts, the more the process can lose its appeal for some people, as they realize that their hearts will always be attached to their homes and families. That understanding of the shift in their life’s priorities is a monumental one for Chad and Bret Bourquin. That realization is powerfully captured on Big Time Grain Company’s latest single, ‘Sunday Morning,’ which is a passionate ode to the joys and comforts of coming home to a loving family after spending extended time on the road.
