Four former legendary Hollywood superheroes are facing a new fight on their own home turf; the group is battling against not only their enemies, but also the stigma and restrictions of old age. Their struggle is unfolding in the upcoming comedy, ‘Supervized,’ which will be distributed in theaters and on VOD tomorrow, July 19, by Freestyle Releasing. In honor of the group of retired superheros assembling for one last mission, which involves them reclaiming their glory, ShockYa is premiering an exclusive clip from the movie, which is titled ‘Glasgow Rainbow.’
The superhero film was directed and produced by Steve Barron, and written by Andy Briggs and John Niven. It features an all star cast that includes Tom Berenger, Beau Bridges, Louis Gossett Jr., Fionnula Flanagan, Elya Baskin, Clive Russell and Fiona Glascott.
Freestyle Releasing has unveiled the following synopsis for ‘Supervized’:
An elderly group of international superheroes retired to Dunmanor nursing home in Ireland. Ray (Berenger) is the once world-renowned Maximum Justice,’ who will fight bad with good until the cows come home. He finds it hard to accept that his hero days are over, and now it’s bingo games and blanket baths. His old team, which consists of his trusted sidekick, Ted AKA ‘Shimmy’ (Bridges); old flame Madera ‘Moonlight’ (Flanagan); and rival at everything, Pendle ‘Total Thunder’ (Gossett Jr.); are far more accepting of their indignant destiny.
When Jerry ‘Rainbow Warrior’ (Russell) dies, after having his superpowers downwardly managed for the safety of others, which is a federation sectioned procedure, Ray suspects foul play, and decides to investigate. The rest of the gang are not so convinced, and Ray finds himself battling against not only his enemies, but the stigma and restrictions of old age.
