Actress Katie Brayben is connecting with her inner peace in her new horror movie, ‘A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life.’ The performer’s protagonist, Lou Farnt, a self-help addict whose ultimate life goal is to escape her small town, believes she has found serenity on her camping trip. That misleading sense of tranquillity is showcased in ShockYa’s new exclusive clip, which is titled ‘Tree Huggers,’ from the British dark comedy.
The exclusive clip is helping to promote ‘A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life’s release on iTunes and Digital HD in the US and Canada this week. Arrow Films distributed the adventure movie in North America, following the feature’s critically acclaimed festival circuit run, including at FrightFest.
‘A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life’ is the debut feature film from writer-director Staten Cousins Roe. In addition to Brayben, the comedy also stars Poppy Roe, Ben Lloyd-Hughes and Sian Clifford.
The crime movie was produced by Forward Motion Pictures, a multi award-winning production company that’s run by husband-wife duo Roe and Roe. The film was inspired by the duo’s acclaimed short film, ‘This Way Out,’ which screened on HBO and Sundance Channel, and received multiple awards.
Roe has released the following statement about making ‘A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life’:
“I started my first feature film, ‘A Serial Killer’s Guide to Life,’ with a small dedicated team and a tiny budget – we shot at over 30 locations in only two weeks and edited it ourselves at home. At the festival premiere, the audience response was immense, and since then it’s gathered brilliant reviews. Now I’m excited to have my funny and violent road trip comedy become available to disturb audiences across the world. I followed the do-it-yourself first film approach of my heroes Christopher Nolan, the Coen Brothers and Stanley Kubrick, and have made a truly independent film as my debut feature.”
